I must be cursed on my birthday.
Growing up, my parents rarely took my bday seriously. After the day of my bday, they remembered about it, and then, they said, "let's do it with your brother's one. It's coming up soon." Two months later, we only have one cake and only one name on it. This was my bday ritual. A destiny for a middle child.
Then this year. A lot of wishes on facebook and text msg. I'm blessed by my friends. But not by my family....
My husband forgot ot make a reservation at the restaurant I wanted to try out. By the time when he remembered, it was too late. By means, we stayed in tonight. With a lonly apology bouquet on the table.
Last mother's day, he told me I didn't deserve it.
This birthday, we fought. No fun, no celebration.
All I wish for my bday is that...I want him to stop yelling at me every single time.

Social Network
Social Network
Pros: a bridge to people I can rarely see oftten, a tool to know what's going on with friends
Cons: too private
I use 2 kinds of social network myself; facebook and mixi (a japanese version of facebook)
Both of them are fun, don't give me wrong. They make it possible for me to be able to keep in touch with friends. Also I gather some info about raising a kid from other mothers. They are rather a window for me to know the outside of "my family."
But sometimes it feels like I cannot be open about my life, especialy emotional part. The reasons are simple. A: I don't want others to know some details. B: I'm afraid if my friends think of me as a pathetic woman. Maybe it's because there are some insecure part of me deep inside...
This morning, I had to take my husband to work so I could have the car to bring myself to see OB. At the garage, the car was parked too close to the passenger side. Getting my son to his child seat in that small space was so ahrd for a pregnant woman. I mentioned it to my husband who parked the car last time. Then, he bursted into an extremely angry mode. He raised his voice and said, "I hate it the most about you, you complain about what I do too much. I can put the baby to the car seat no problem in that space!"
Maybe it was wrong of me to say, "Hey, you don't know how to park!" But still. Did I really really really deserve to be yelled like that? Make it worse, this is the day before my birthday.
Since I don't like to have fight in front of him, I stayed quiet. Still keeping quiet right now at this momrnt. (it's almost 11pm!)
Carrying a 20lb baby up and down the stairs is already not an easy work. Putting him into his car seat in such a small space given is a nightamre with a bumpy belly in front. But he doesn't understand that. Such a guy....he should get pregnant to know how hard it is to do even a simplest thing in life.
Anyways,
In about one hour, I'm turning 24. Such a disappointing way to have it though....It's still a cold war between him and me as of right now....
Yet! Tomorrow, in the morning, I am going to get some used clothes for my son! :) I love getting him some "new" clothes. :) Also lunch, some of my friends are coming over. :) It took me nearly 3 hours to cook a hot pod. It"d better taste good tomorrow. :)
Good night. And...
Good bye 23 years old of me!

flat tire incident
Waking up listening to the sound of rain is not a good way to start a day. Some people like rain, but not me. I prefer the shiny sun shine.
I had to drive to Chula Vista to have lunch with one of my friends, and then go to another friend's house to fix the internet problem.
Although I don't like rain, I like driving in the rain. The thrill and the wet road give me some kind of sick excitements. :)
Lunch was fun. She comes from the same island as I am. Her unique dialect reminds me of back home. Nostalgic moments.
Then I drove to the second direction. There I faced a huge trouble. Her problem was the wireless connection. She bought a new lap top, but could not figure out how to connect to the Internet. When I saw the old desk top which was the only one PC that is connecting to the internet, a doubt came across my mind: I might not be able to do this. Tangled up millions of cords didn't help me neither.
Since I said I could easily do it, my pride didn't let me just give up yet.
After three hours of fighting, I called my husband seeking for some help.
We visited her house again on the same day after my hubby's work. Let the pro handle the wireless!
To my surprise, in about 15 minutes he figured out what the problem was. Seriously? Only 15 minutes? The saddest part was that he only did turn off and then turn back the router on again. Simple as that. Sigh. Again sigh....I gotta watch IT Crowds again.
Anyways, on the way back from her house, the car started beeping. We had a flat tire! Immediately we stopped by at a gas station to get some air to a poor tire. Then we hit home finally. It was already passed 11pm.
This morning, I woke up hearing my son crying in the next room. Picked him up, thinking of going back to sleep again. But his innocent crying brought me back to the reality. I am the only mother he can depend on. Such a responsibility.
There was no appointment in the morning. I could take my sweet time getting myself ready for the day. Even better, my hubby was eating out today. Yay! No reason to kick my butt to run errands in the morning. What a precious "morning off" for a housewife! In my head, I was totally dancing in a gorgeous lavender garden all by myself. Then all of a sudden the lavenders turned into nasty dirt, when my husband told me that I had to get ready asap to go to costco to buy a tire. The poor tire went completely flat again over night. Stupid nails!
My imaginary perfect morning became an ordinary morning. Good thing about the nearest costco is that there's IKEA next to it. While they fixed the tire, I took my sleepy son to shopping. Crusing around IKEA is never boring. Always new items and ideas. I cannot afford new furniture, yet it's free to have a wonderful imagination what I want to do with the bedroom.
IKEA sells cinnamon rolls. Have anyone tried it before? It's always a big temptation, but I never got one before. Are they any good?
By the time we got home, it was already 11:30. Where did my "mornig off" go?
Right now as I am writing this, it's almost 4 pm. My son hasn't woke up yet. Should I wake him up and feed him? Or should I take advantage of this silent moments?
By the way, the french chocolate I got from Costco today is so yummy! This totally worth the busy morning incident :)
